Ensuring Cost Transparency for Healthcare Providers

About one-third of adults in the United States report that, in the past 12 months, they have skipped or postponed getting healthcare they needed due to the cost. Roughly half of respondents in a recent survey reported difficulty obtaining accurate cost estimates before receiving care, while 63 percent were billed more than they were initially quoted.

A lack of price transparency continues to plague the U.S. healthcare industry – something government legislation (i.e., the No Surprises Act, the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule) has seemingly failed to eliminate. That’s the case even when mitigating the issue would likely help reduce expenditures, improve patient satisfaction and engagement, bolster patient knowledge of payment responsibility, and result in m ore profitable revenue collection from lack of surprise medical bills.

As a healthcare provider, you’re aware that collecting more revenue while cutting costs is especially important as the amount of money it takes to operate a practice continues to rise. The average overhead for today’s medical practice ranges from 60 to 70 percent, with annual expenses estimated at between $600,000 and $800,000.

Cutting costs without negatively impacting patient care is indeed possible. As we mentioned in a previous blog , scaling your business communication through a voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) phone system is not only less expensive than traditional phone services but also equips your practice with numerous advanced calling and data storage features.

Providing healthcare practitioners like you with a HIPAA-compliant VoIP communications system that offers numerous features and functions would be beneficial only if it were not laden with hidden fees and taxes. That’s why we at RingRx believe that clarity in pricing and billing is a crucial part of what we offer our customers . No hidden fees and taxes or unclear pricing structures with our platform.
